Wrong Turn

Wrong Turn is a 2003 horror film, directed by Rob Schmidt and written by Alan B. McElroy. The film stars Desmond Harrington and Eliza Dushku. The film was shot in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and was followed by Wrong Turn 2: Dead End due to its commercial success. The film was entitled "Dead Camp" when shown on South Korean television.

Plot
The film starts with two college students, Halley & Rich rock climbing in the West Virginia forest. Rich gets to the top first while Halley continues to climb. She is having trouble so she asks for help up. All of a sudden, Rich is thrown off the cliff by unseen men. The killers then start pulling Halley up, but she cuts her rope and falls. She lands next to Rich's dead body, screams, gets up and runs off into the woods. The trees around her move and three eerie laughs are heard. Jackass Number Two is a 2006 comedy film. It is the sequel to Jackass: The Movie (2002), both based upon the MTV series Jackass. Like its predecessor and the original TV show, the film is a compilation of stunts, pranks and skits with essentially no plot. The film stars the regular Jackass cast of Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Chris Pontius, Steve-O, Ryan Dunn, Dave England, Jason "Wee Man" Acuña, Preston Lacy and Ehren McGhehey. Everyone depicted in the film plays as themselves. All nine main cast members from the first film returned for the sequel. The film was directed by Jeff Tremaine, who also directed Jackass: The Movie and produced Jackass.

The film was produced by Dickhouse Productions and distributed by Paramount Pictures. The film premiered in theatres on September 22, 2006. The DVD was later released on December 26, 2006. Jackass 2.5, a direct-to-video feature, was made available online on December 19, 2007 and on DVD on December 26, 2007. It contains deleted and unused scenes that were originally shot for Jackass Number Two.

Plot
Jackass Number Two is a compilation of various stunts, pranks and skits, and essentially has no plot. The film opens with an introduction of the nine cast members while they're being chased by bulls in a neighborhood. One by one, the cast members are taken down by the stampede, until only Johnny Knoxville and Bam Margera are left, and are chased through a house. Bam jumps through a window, and Johnny stops in his tracks to deliver his signature line, "Hi, I’m Johnny Knoxville, welcome to Jackass!", and is pushed through a window by several bulls, and the title comes to screen, "Jackass Number Two".

The movie finishes with a Busby Berkeley-style movie musical production number set to the La Cage aux Folles song "The Best Of Times", where the cast sing and dance while getting battered by violent stunts. One stunt involves Wee Man and Preston Lacy sliding onto a bunch of metal trash cans. Others involve Chris Pontius dancing in a flaming building and jumping safely onto a mat, at which point he is knocked off his feet by a fire hose, and Bam and Dunn dancing in cowboy outfits in front of a horse before Knoxville causes the horse to flee by slapping its rear, pulling Bam and Dunn away by a rope attached to their feet. As in the first film, Rip Taylor is seen at the end of the sequence.

Plot
Single mother Jean (Heather Locklear) moves every time she gets her heart broken by another guy, much to the dismay of her teenager daughter, Holly (Hilary Duff). Holly devises a plan to invent a secret admirer for her mother, so she'll be happy and stop moving. Holly overhears her friend Amy's (Vanessa Lengies) uncle Ben (Chris Noth) ordering flowers for a woman, and decides to use his advice on women (which she acquires by telling him she needs help for a school project on romance). Following Ben's advice, she sends her mother orchids and other gifts and love notes, and is soon communicating with her mother as this fictitious admirer (who Holly names Ben) via the internet. As her mother becomes more interested, Holly has to find a photo of this admirer (she sends one of the real Ben), and then devise a reason they can't meet in person (she claims he is working in China). Holly has one sister named Zoe Hamilton, (Aria Wallace). While she is developing the cyber romance between her mother and fake Ben, and preventing her mother and the real Ben from meeting in person, she finds herself drawn to a cute, artistic boy in her class, Adam (Ben Feldman), but is unwilling to get close to anyone due to her history of being uprooted and having to say goodbye so often. Plot

Postal III is a third-person shooter computer and video game developed by Running With Scissors. It is the third game in the Postal video game franchise, and is scheduled for release in North America in 2009 for Linux, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360. A PlayStation 3 port was announced in later stages of development, which will probably be released shortly after the initial release. The game was developed under the working title Postal 3: Catharsis until October 18, 2006, when the finalized title was revealed to be Postal III.

Postal III will continue and expand upon the sandbox-style design of its predecessor, Postal², as well as include motion captured performances by a wide array of celebrities, including film stars and Playboy Playmates It has also been stated that Uwe Boll, director of the Postal film, will appear in the game.

In Postal III, The Postal Dude emigrates to Paradise's sister town of Catharsis. Unlike its predecessor, the game will not be based on the Unreal engine but rather on the Source engine. Also, Postal III will be a third-person shooter, rather than its predecessor Postal² which is a First-person shooter.

Early gameplay footage of the game being played at E3 2008 reveals new weapons such as "The Badgersaw", a nail bat, an M60 machine gun and the return of the gas can and matches from Postal 2. A new concept of weapon is a test lab monkey which will react to a laser pointed by the Postal Dude. Product manager Mike Jaret revealed in an interview that there will be "special vehicles" in the game.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is an upcoming video game for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows. While the science fiction first-person action game was originally anticipated to be a remake of The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, it currently features enough content to be considered a sequel as well.

The game is being developed by Starbreeze Studios and published by Atari. According to Ian Stevens - Head of Production at Tigon, the decision to do a remake was because Microsoft could not make the Xbox 360 backward compatible with Escape from Butcher Bay, and because they wanted to get the Escape story to a larger audience before progressing further.

Dark Athena is expected to have improved graphics and AI from Escape along with the addition of a multiplayer mode. The single player mode will also be expanded to include Riddick escaping onto a mercenary ship called Dark Athena.

Vin Diesel, the voice and likeness of the title character, will be involved in the production of Assault on Dark Athena. It has not yet received an ESRB rating.

Blood of Bahamut is an upcoming Square Enix game for the Nintendo DS. Before its official announcement, its trademarking prompted rumours of a connection to SNES TRPG Bahamut Lagoon. Such a connection has not been confirmed or denied by Square Enix.

Plot
The game is set in a city built on the back of a great beast known as the Gigant. The city suddenly comes under attack and Ibuki and Yui must defend it. The Gigant is sentient, and will also attempt to defend itself, taking part in battles, though whether or not it will be controllable has not been confirmed.

GamePlay
Infinite Undiscovery is meant to envelop the player in a real-time world where individual decisions can unveil numerous discoveries and affect other encounters, without the need to transition to another screen and can occur at anytime, even while the player is going through inventory in the menu. The action based battle system allows up to 4 characters to be on the field at once. The player controls the main character Capell from a third-person perspective while the other 3 characters are controlled by AI, however using connect actions Capell can use another character's skill. Faced with a variety of episodic situational battles, the player is meant to try various methods to defeat the enemy, where the most obvious solution is rarely the right move. Certain battles require the player to divide the whole of the cast (said to be up to eighteen characters) into teams due to the sheer size of the situation. The game transitions between day and night about every 10 minutes and the player must use this to their advantage. For instance, at night the player might have a better chance of infiltrating an enemy base stealthily as opposed to barging in during the day (this system was later found to be removed from the final product). Light stealth elements like this are hidden throughout the game, director Hiroshi Ogawa explains: “As an example, when you’re running away from a hunting dog, you can distract him by dropping apples from the trees. However, the guards may catch you when they hear the thud of the apples.

In an interview for MTV, he said of the album "I think after they listen to this album, they'll be like, 'Oh, this is an artist who's in the music industry now". Soulja Boy has launched a campaign via YouTube to get the album to go Platinum in its first week of release. This campaign failed, as iSouljaBoyTellem sold around 45,000 copies in its first week.

StarCraft II is a trilogy of military science fiction real-time strategy video games currently under development by Blizzard Entertainment as a sequel to the award-winning 1998 video game StarCraft. StarCraft II, originally envisioned as a single game, was announced to be a trilogy at BlizzCon 2008, consisting of one game followed up later by two expansion packs, provisionally entitled Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void respectively. The single player campaign mode for the game and its expansions will each focus on telling the story of a specific faction, staring with the Terran at first, followed up by Zerg and Protoss factions in the expansions. From the start, the game and its expansions will allow you to play as any faction using single player skirmish or multiplayer and online modes. Blizzard states that the expansion packs will have lots of content and feel like full games on their own right. No release dates were announced for the trilogy. StarCraft II is being developed for concurrent release on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Mac OS X. Activision Blizzard, Blizzard's parent company, believes that the game should be released in 2009.

GamePlay
According to its creators, StarCraft II is designed to be the "ultimate competitive real-time strategy game", building on the successes enjoyed by its predecessor, StarCraft. It features the return of the three races from the original game — Protoss, Terran, and Zerg; Blizzard states these are the only playable races in the game. StarCraft II is also designed to focus more heavily on the multiplayer aspect, when compared to the original StarCraft. The changes include overall improvement in Battle.net, a new competitive "ladder" system for ranked games and new matchmaking mechanics – designed to "match-up" players of equal skill levels. In addition, the replay function, which allows players to record and review past games, is being improved. Blizzard has also stated they have made some changes to the game that were suggested by fans.

Plot

Afro Samurai is an upcoming video game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 to be released on January 27, 2009 based on the manga and anime series of the same name. It was announced in the February 2008 issue of play magazine and is being developed and published by Namco Bandai Games. As with the anime series, the title character is voiced by Samuel L. Jackson and features a cel-shaded animation style. Though it is a hack and slash game, the "fighting is a bit more strategic" and the player will be able to block and use combos. The enemies will respond by rolling, ducking and hopping over the player's blade and occasionally using body orifices to catch the weapons. Besides Afro Samurai, Brother Six, Okiku, Ninja Ninja, Justice and a new character called Hitori were seen in the trailer. Black Ice is the 16th studio album by Australian hard rock band AC/DC, produced by Brendan O'Brien and released worldwide between October 17 and 22, 2008. AC/DC were known to be working on the album as early as January 2006, with it being delayed because of an injury to bassist Cliff Williams and a change of record labels to Sony Music, and in turn Columbia Records.

The album is their longest to date, with the band having recorded it in The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, Canada, the same studio as their previous album Stiff Upper Lip. It is their first album since the release of Stiff Upper Lip in 2000, the longest gap between two AC/DC studio albums to date.

Black Ice sold around 1,762,000 units in its first week, shipping 5,000,000 copies worldwide. The album went number one in 29 different countries, including Australia, the United Kingdom and United States. In its first week, it sold 784,000 copies in the US alone, with it receiving a three times platinum certification in Australia and selling upwards of 110,000 in the UK. The band's 16th effort has been heralded as "the biggest debut ever by a mainstream hard rock album."

It is the next game in the Operation Flashpoint-series following the predecessor ArmA: Armed Assault. The game was officially announced on August 22, 2007 at the Games Convention in Leipzig.

GamePlay
ArmA 2 is set in the year 2009, in a fictional post-Soviet country called Chernarus. Bohemia Interactive revealed during E3 that the game will have a "roleplaying feel to it"; with in-game events affecting your character as well as the entire campaign. An example would be terrorizing noncombatants and losing their trust, thus encouraging them to give away valuable information to enemy forces. A map the size of 240 square kilometers has been mentioned in a recent interview with a BI representative. ArmA 2 is expected to be released in 2009.

Saints Row 2 (abbreviated to SR2) is a sandbox-style action-adventure video game developed by Volition Inc and published by THQ. It is the sequel to Saints Row and is the second title in the Saints Row series. Saints Row 2 was released in North America on October 14, 2008, in Australia on October 16, 2008, and in Europe on October 17, 2008, for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A PC version of the game is in development, and ships on January 6, 2009 internationally. A smaller variant of the game has also been published for mobiles.

Set in Stilwater, a fictional city based heavily on the likes of Detroit and Chicago, the game begins with the protagonist waking up from a trauma-induced coma in a water-locked prison hospital, five years after being blown up aboard a yacht at the end of Saints Row. After successfully escaping the prison with the help of a fellow inmate, he returns to Stilwater to find that it has been heavily expanded due to the work of business corporation Ultor. The protagonist then resurrects the 3rd Street Saints, an urban crime gang to which he served in Saints Row, in a quest to reconquer the city, eliminate the three rival gangs who now control the streets of Stilwater, and to give retribution to those who betrayed him.

Since its release, Saints Row 2 has been generally praised by critics and fans alike and has received generally positive reviews. There are, however, common complaints of technical issues; the game does contain a large number of bugs and glitches, and has been known to freeze in some instances on both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Despite this, Saints Row 2 went on to sell 890,000 units for the Xbox 360 and 440,000 for the PlayStation 3 by November 2008, with more than two million copies shipped worldwide since November 5, 2008.

GamePlay
Saints Row 2 has gameplay structured similarly to its predecessor Saints Row. The core gameplay consists of elements of a third-person shooter and a driving game, affording the player a large, open environment in which to move around. On foot, the player's character is capable of walking, running, swimming, climbing and jumping, as well as utilising weapons and basic hand-to-hand combat. Players can steal and drive a variety of vehicles, including automobiles, boats, helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft and motorcycles.

The open, non-linear environment allows players to explore and choose how they wish to play the game. After the player completes a tutorial mission the entire environment is fully explorable to every detail. Although storyline missions are necessary as they are part of in-game progress, players can complete them at their own leisure, after filling up a bar full of respect, in-game currency which is used for missions. These missions can be completed at the player's own leisure and when not taking on a storyline mission, players can free-roam and explore the environment, spend money on various shops and participate in mini-games called activities which earn the player more money and respect. However, creating havoc can attract unwanted and potentially fatal attention from the authorities.

Plot
When Mo (Brendan Fraser) reads aloud from books, he has the ability to make the characters come out of the book, into real life. Mo discovered his power when his daughter Meggie (Eliza Bennett), was just a baby. Mo read aloud from the book Inkheart, which caused several of the book's wicked characters, including Capricorn (Andy Serkis), to literally come to life. But while he read them out of the book, he accidentally read Meggie’s mother, Teresa (Sienna Guillory) into the story.

Meggie is 12 years old, but knows nothing of her father's bizarre and powerful talent. But Meggie is annoyed that Mo still refuses to read to her. Capricorn, a man who burns for pleasure and being so evil that he would "feed a bird to a cat on purpose, just to watch it being torn apart", has searched for Meggie's father for years, seeking to twist Mo's powerful talent to his own dark means. Finally, Capricorn realizes that the best way to lure Mo to his remote mountain hideaway is to use his beloved daughter Meggie as bait. While Meggie discovers Capricorn's ruthless plan, she too, can pluck people from pages and bring them to life, but it takes a while for her to realize her power.

The game revolves around the player's control of small avatars, known as Sackboys or Sackgirls owing to their appearance, in a variety of platforming scenarios. Though the game features a set of pre-built levels for players to explore, of equal importance is the game's customisable nature, from altering the player's character and personal space, to building entirely new objects and levels, and then sharing and playing them online as part of the LittleBigPlanet community. Originally intended for a release in mid-to-late October, a last-minute delay involving a licensed song in the game's soundtrack delayed the game's release worldwide. It was released in North America and Japan at the end of October, and in Europe at the beginning of November. GamePlay
In LittleBigPlanet, players control small characters nicknamed Sackboy (or sometimes Sackgirl or Sack-person), owing to their material and appearance, each of which can run and jump, as well as hang onto and drag/push objects. Players use these abilities in a number of ways: to play and explore the environments that come with the game, which feature platforming elements such as jumping, pushing, grabbing and running, and which make use of the game's robust physics engine; to create their own content, such as simply placing stickers into levels, as well as using the level editor to create, destroy, edit and manipulate levels; and, finally, to share creations, by publishing items such as levels and objects with the online community, as well as play these creations online with others. These three modes are described simply by the title's catch phrase: Play. Create. Share.

Players begin inside their own pod, a personal space from which they can access the three modes of gameplay, and decorate the room with stickers and decorations. Initially, only the Play mode is available, from which the player undertakes some tutorials, narrated by Stephen Fry; once the basics are mastered, the player is free to continue playing any part of the game.

Defiance stars Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber, Jamie Bell, and George MacKay as four Jewish brothers from Poland who escape from the Nazis and fight back to rescue fellow Jews. Production began in early September 2007. The film is scheduled for full release on January 16th, 2009.

Plot
Three Jewish brothers escape from Nazi-occupied Poland into the Belarussian forest, where they join Russian resistance fighters and endeavor to build a village in order to protect themselves and others in danger.

Deadly Creatures is an upcoming video game of the action thriller genre for the Wii video game console. It is developed by Rainbow Studios and published by THQ.

GamePlay
Previews have revealed that the two creatures have different playing styles, with the scorpion's levels featuring more action-oriented gameplay, while the tarantula is more stealth oriented, with less linear levels. The Wii Remote and Nunchuk are used for both movement and attacks, with motion controls incorporated for special attacks and finishing moves, while the tarantula also utilizes the pointer function to shoot webs. New abilities are also gained as the player progresses through the game.

Along with dispatching common arthropods such as pill bugs, crickets, wolf spiders, dung beetles and hornets, most of which can be devoured to regain health, the player also faces bosses including a Gila Monster, a rattlesnake and eventually humans. The clashes between the creatures are described as similar to monster movies, with a similar impact to battles in King Kong and Jurassic Park albeit on a smaller scale.

MadWorld is an upcoming action video game for the Wii console developed by Platinum Games and published by Sega.

GamePlay
From a third-person perspective, the player controls Jack, a mechanic with a chainsaw on his arm, as he competes in a violent television show. Control is handled through the Wii Remote and Nunchuk attachment, with the Remote controlling his weapon and the Nunchuk moving Jack. Most attacks are performed using the "B" button and accelerometer. Furthermore, MadWorld will not make use of the Wii Remote's infrared sensor, as its developers found it unnecessary to pinpoint movements on the screen in order to attack. Players perform brutal melee attacks on enemies using objects found throughout the environment, such as impaling an enemy's head with a caution sign.

The game will feature extreme, over-the-top violence, but designer Shigenori Nishikawa intends it to be seen in a comical light despite the dark tone of the game. For example, in a minigame called "Man Darts", players must hit enemies onto a giant dartboard with a baseball bat to score points. However, because of the intended level of violence PlatinumGames is unsure of whether or not the game will ultimately be released in Japan, stating "In certain markets there are a lot of limitations on the amount of violence you can show, so we definitely have the Western market much more in mind". MadWorld will feature ultra-stylized graphics that use a limited color palette of high contrast black and white with red blood, partially inspired by Frank Miller's Sin City graphic novels.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is an upcoming video game in developement by Naughty Dog and to be published by Sony Computer Entertainment exclusively for the PlayStation 3. It is the sequel to the highly successful Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. This entry follows the adventures of protagonist Nathan Drake as he uncovers the mysteries behind 13th-century explorer, Marco Polo, and the ships that he "lost" while returning home to Italy. Following him on his quest will be new character, Chloe Frazer, voiced by Claudia Black of Stargate SG-1 and Farscape.

The title will feature new gameplay mechanics, such as stealth action segments, and changing the climbing mechanic to allow free movement over walls. The game is also stated to have no loading screens. First revealed by Game Informer in December 2008, the first teaser trailer shows a weary, wounded Drake marching through a snow storm to reach a Phurba half-buried in the snow. Lead character artist, Richard Diamant, remarked that the trailer was rendered in real-time, using the game's engine. A second teaser trailer was released soon after showing a badly wounded Drake stuck in the remains of a wrecked train hanging precariously over a cliff.

Full-resolution screenshots and concept art from an area in the game not seen in either of the two videos released thus far have appeared on Dutch gaming site XGN Naughty Dog has confirmed that these are, in fact, in-game shots.

God of War II is a hack and slash action-adventure video game and the sequel to the 2005 game God of War for the PlayStation 2. It was released in North America on March 13, 2007, in Europe on April 27, 2007, and May 3, 2007 in Australia, and October 25, 2007 in Japan.

The North American NTSC version of God of War II is packaged in a two-disc set. The first disc contains the game, and the second disc is dedicated to the game's development, including a diary of the game's production. The European/Australian PAL version comes in two different editions: a single disc standard edition and a two disc "Special Edition" that comes in a different case than the single disc edition. It also includes different box art, a bonus DVD, as well as the PAL version of the game.

GamePlay
The gameplay of God of War II is very similar to that of its predecessor. The player controls Kratos in a combination of combat, platforming, and puzzle game elements. Kratos' main weapons are Athena's Blades, which are blades on the ends of long chains that Kratos is able to swing in destructive paths but also able to use to scale rock faces or swing from special hook points. Kratos received Athena's Blades at the end of the original game. Other weapons and magic abilities are acquired as the plot progresses and can be used in conjunction with the Blades to dispatch enemies. Defeating foes using a combination of attacks, including chaining attacks together in combos, will release red experience orbs, used to power up Kratos' weapons and magic, and green, blue, and yellow orbs to replenish health, magic power, and the Rage of the Titans power, respectively. Chests distributed throughout the levels can also release these orbs, as well as providing Kratos with special artifacts to increase his maximum health and magic levels.

As with many foes in the first game, once Kratos has weakened an enemy, an indicator will appear above it. The player can then initiate a fatality minigame, which may require the player to hit a button, turn the analog stick, button-mash, or some combination thereof when prompted on-screen. A successful attempt will release additional orbs or life as a reward, while failure may result in damage to Kratos. Bosses can only be finished via these minigames, allowing the programmers to guarantee them graphic and cinematic demises.

New features in God of War II include additional relics introduced in the game. These allow Kratos to reflect magic spells back to their target, to slow down time when near special statues, and to open locked doors. Additionally, Kratos takes flight on the back of Pegasus with the combat similar in nature to rail games such as Panzer Dragoon Orta. A new "Challenge of the Titans" mode allows the player to attempt 7 different challenges with increasing difficulty after they have completed the main game once. There is also an "Arena of the Fates", in which the number and types of opponents can be customized. The experience points gained therein carry over to the main game. An overall rank of Titan must be achieved in the Challenge of the Titans in order to unlock the Arena of the Fates. Finally, a series of Grecian urns hidden throughout the game allow the unlocking of additional abilities when starting a New Game Plus, known in this game as a "Bonus Play".

Synopsis

Afrika, known as Hakuna Matata in Asia, is a photography and safari simulation video game for the PlayStation 3. Developed by Rhino Studios, the game was first announced in a promotional video during the Sony press conference at E3 2006. Afrika has been referred to as a spiritual successor to the Nintendo 64 title Pokemon Snap. On November 19, 2008 it was announced that the former Asian territory ‘exclusive’ is going to be released in North America (and presumably Europe). The game is being published by National Geographic and will be renamed ‘National Geographic: Africa’ and will be released sometime in December 2008.

GamePlay
In Afrika, the player assumes the role of a photojournalist hired to take images of various animals. Gameplay is mission-driven; players receive e-mails at base camp instructing them as to which animals they must photograph. Players may then travel by foot, jeep, or hot air balloon to the areas where requested animals are found in order to photograph them. The in-game camera is controlled by the Sixaxis. Depending on the quality of the photograph taken, the player will earn in-game money. This money can be used to purchase new supplies such as an upgraded camera. Additional to the actual gameplay are unlockables such as various footage and real-life snapshots of the animals that can be encountered, which are collected and stored in the “Animal Library”. The soundtrack for the game was composed by Wataru Hokoyama. The music was awarded Best Original Video Game Score by The Hollywood Music Awards 2008. Movie Music UK has the only review of the soundtrack and gave it 4.5/5.0, saying "Hokoyama has left a strong impression with the wonderful music he has composed. This is a soundtrack you cannot pass up."

Final Fantasy Versus XIII is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix exclusively for the Sony PlayStation 3 video game console. GamePlay
Unlike Final Fantasy XIII, there is scarcely any information surrounding the gameplay and battle system of Final Fantasy Versus XIII because no formal footage has been shown by Square Enix of the gameplay online or within video game magazines. Within recent Japanese gaming magazine interviews, Tetsuya Nomura has stated that Versus XIII's gameplay will be a realistic derivation of Kingdom Hearts battle system with some elements of a third-person shooter - similar to Square Enix's Dirge of Cerberus. Nomura has also stated that the game will stave off the light and magical aesthetic of his previous directorial games (i.e. Kingdom Hearts) and opt for a darker, bleaker world that is intended to counter previous Final Fantasy installments. In formulating a realistic world, Nomura has stated that he wants the characters to be "believable" and thus realistic. As a testament towards his desire for realism; in the PlayStation Premier trailer, in contrast to previous Final Fantasy titles, Versus XIII had a greater display of graphic violence with an instance of blood. Nomura has also stated in Dengeki PlayStation that he aims to create previously unseen "tricky" battle sequences, reminiscent of the CGI film, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children.

The Circus is the fifth studio album from British band, Take That. The album was announced by Gary Barlow on Chris Moyles' radio programme on Radio 1 on October 13, 2008. The album was released on December 1, 2008. In the United Kingdom, the album was released in direct competition to the new Britney Spears album, also titled Circus, released on the same day. The band's manager claimed the album's title choice was a coincidence, and that Take That had worked 'months in advance' and would not be changing the title. Take That released their first single from the album, "Greatest Day", on 24th November. Following the release of the album, Take That announced plans for a stadium tour titled "Take That presents The Circus Live" in 2009. The tour became the fastest selling tour in UK history selling £35m of tickets in one day (600,000 in less than 5 hours), beating the previous record set by Michael Jackson for his Bad World Tour in 1987. Waltz with Bashir is a critically-acclaimed 2008 animated film directed by Ari Folman. It took four years to complete and is an international co-production between Israel, Germany and France. The film deals with the 1982 Sabra and Shatila massacre.
The film belongs to a rare genre called the "animated documentary". It entered the competition for the Palme d'Or at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, and received wide critical acclaim at its premiere, however lost in competition for the prizes despite predictions made during the festival week. The Guardian called it "an extraordinary, harrowing, provocative picture". The film won six awards of the Israeli Film Academy, including Best Picture. The film was featured in the 46th New York Film Festival, where it also had its US premiere on October 2nd, 2008. The film has been sent as an entry for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards.

Plot

In 1982 Folman was a 19 year old infantry soldier in the Israel Defense Forces. In 2006 he meets with a friend from the army service period, who tells him of the nightmares connected to his experiences from the 1982 Lebanon War. Folman is surprised to find out that he does not remember a thing from the same period. Later that night he has a vision from the night of the Sabra and Shatila massacre the reality of which he is unable to tell. In his memory he and his soldier friends are bathing at night by the seaside in Beirut to the light of flares descending over the city. Folman rushes off to meet another friend from his army service, who advises him to discuss it with other people who were in Beirut at the same time to understand what happened there and to relive his own memory. The film follows Folman in his conversations with friends, a psychologist and the reporter Ron Ben-Yishai who was in Beirut at the same time.

A Vampyre Story is a 2008 point-and-click adventure game developed by Autumn Moon Entertainment for Windows; it is published by Crimson Cow. The game is set in Europe during the 1880s, and follows a young female opera singer turned vampire as she attempts to make the journey back home to Paris in search of fame and normality. The title's distinctive spelling of vampire with a y was derived from the seminal western vampire tale The Vampyre by John Polidori.

GamePlay
A Vampyre Story was created by a number of former LucasArts adventure game developers, and so is understandably similar to some of their previous classics in presentation and style. As such, the game will utilise a point-and-click interface with a context-sensitive radial cursor, much the same as CMI: upon clicking an interactive item, a graphic menu will appear around the object, displaying the available actions and abilities. As the game progresses, Mona will gradually learn how to use her new supernatural abilities. Consequently, her newfound powers will play a large role in the game's puzzles, requiring Mona to use her abilities to overcome certain challenges and progress through the game.

Nothing But The Truth is an upcoming 2008 thriller written and directed by Rod Lurie. The story centers on a female newspaper reporter (Kate Beckinsale) who outs a CIA agent and is imprisoned for refusing to reveal her source. Actor David Schwimmer plays Beckinsale's husband and Angela Bassett is the supportive editor in chief at the Washington newspaper where Beckinsale’s character works. Actor Noah Wyle portrays the lawyer placed in charge of defending her. The cast includes Matt Dillon as the prosecutor, Vera Farmiga as the CIA agent, and Alan Alda as the attorney who tries to free the reporter from jail.

Nothing but the Truth parallels the case of Valerie Plame, whose status as a CIA agent was exposed in the media after her husband, Ambassador Joe Wilson, wrote a New York Times op-ed piece charging the Bush administration with manipulating intelligence to justify the invasion of Iraq. Filming (in Memphis, Tennessee) began in 2007 for release on December 19, 2008.

Plot
Reporter Rachel Armstrong (Beckinsale) is handed a jail sentence for refusing to name her source, a covert CIA operative, for her article on a American missile attack against Venezuela.

It was originally known as Addicted and while news of the name change emerged in early August 2007, it was mid December before it was confirmed by the producers with Sarah Michelle Gellar not being sure of its name in the intervening period.

Plot
Jess (Gellar), a woman whose life turns surreal after an automobile accident leaves both her husband Ryan and her brother-in-law Roman (Pace) in a coma. Things take an even darker turn when Roman wakes believing that he is Ryan. As Jess tries to deal with these increasingly disturbing events, she also struggles with the possibility that either the spirit of her husband has returned to her or that something very sinister is at work.

Prototype is an upcoming sandbox-style action game in development by Radical Entertainment and based on an original IP developed in-house. It has been confirmed for a release date of April 1st, 2009 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows platforms.

A key aspect of Prototype is the 'disguise and destroy' concept, which is tied to the protagonist's enemy-consuming and shapeshifting powers. Alex can consume the bodies of those he has beaten and killed, which gives him access to their memories, their experiences, their biomass, and their physical forms. Alex can also shapeshift into more specialized forms for attack, defense, or sensory enhancement. All of these together are intended to give players multiple ways to complete their objectives.

GamePlay
The gameplay in Prototype is centered around Alex's superhuman abilities. Alex has superhuman strength, speed, agility, durability and healing as well as the abilities of consuming his fallen enemies, shapeshifting his body, and easily moving in the New York City environment. Radical claims that there will be 750 "unique combinations" of powers.

Multiplay
Multiplayer was originally planned but was later removed from the game due to time constraints. However, because of the recent delay, it was implied that multiplayer would be included. However, developer Chris Ansell stated in an interview with 1up that there was no plans for a multiplayer and would focus solely on the single player experience.

The designers are incorporating 'origin' stories for each race and some classes in the game. For example, a Dwarf Noble will begin the game as part of the royal family in one of the Dwarven cities, and a Dwarf Commoner will begin on the streets of the city. Origin stories determine the background of the player's character prior to the main events of the game's story, forming an introduction to the game world and hours of game-play. Relapse is the sixth studio album by American rapper Eminem. There is no confirmed release date by Interscope Records, although the rapper has referred to the first quarter of 2009 as the period span in which he plans to release the album. Several close artists and collaborators with the rapper made mention of the album by various working titles, before Eminem himself referred to the album by the title Relapse.

Album Title
Since May 2007, Cashis has several times referred to the album as King Mathers, stating that this would be its official name, up to at least April 2008. Dennis Dennehy also rejected these statements as false, adding that as of August 2007 there was no confirmed title. In contrast, King Mathers was also used by West Coast producer C Major during an interview for DubCNN. Nonetheless, on September 30, 2008, Sha Money XL referred to the album by a new title, The Empack. Cashis later rectified this title, instead referring to the album as The Empact. Further disputing matters, Sha Money made a following statement that "The Empack" was indeed a mistype, but that this was not the album's working title. On October 15, 2008, at an event held by Shade 45 to celebrate the publication of Eminem's autobiography The Way I Am, Eminem announced that the final title to the album was Relapse, thus putting at end to speculation regarding the album's name:
"Here's the deal. There's like a lot of album titles floating around out there that like, are fake album titles…like bullshit album titles, so I was just gonna say, you know, tell everybody the real title of my album. It's coming out, it's called Relapse".

Plot

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (officially abbreviated as WAR) is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game based on Games Workshop's Warhammer Fantasy setting. It was developed by Mythic Entertainment and simultaneously released in North and South Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand on September 18, 2008. The game revolves around the continual worldwide conflict that the Warhammer Fantasy setting is known for, and the game is geared toward ongoing, constant war laced with dark humor.

Game Features

Character Customization

In Warhammer Online character customization is available in many forms. The initial character creation process allows players to select the race, career and basic look of their character, including facial features and accessories. Dye is available at NPC vendors for recoloring armor and accessories. Players are able to decorate themselves with trophies, such as the heads of fallen enemies, which are equipped and displayed at various points on the character model. Other forms of customization include Tactics (customizable sets of bonuses that players can adjust while out of combat), as well as Morale Abilities (increasingly powerful abilities that become available as morale is generated during the course of battle). Customizable armor and visual guild heraldry also aid in allowing a player to make their character visually unique.

In addition to visual character customization, Warhammer features an achievement system, similar to that of Steam. As achievements are unlocked, players may apply custom titles that appear beneath their names. For More Info Click Here!

The Pink Panther 2 is a sequel to the 2006 film, The Pink Panther. The film is currently scheduled for release on February 6, 2009 in North America; dates for other areas per citation.

In the new film, Inspector Clouseau must team up with detectives from other countries to rout the daring cat burglar, The Tornado, who has returned after a decade of inactivity.

Steve Martin, who will reprise the role of Clouseau , polished the original script written by Scott Neustadter and Michael M. Weber in November 2006. Columbia Pictures, partnering with MGM on the sequel, hired the team of Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel to perform a further rewrite in January 2007. Principal photography began in Paris on August 20, 2007 before moving to Boston, Massachusetts a couple of weeks in, where it wrapped on November 2, 2007. Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai appears in the female lead as criminology expert, Sonia. John Cleese replaces Kevin Kline as Chief Inspector Dreyfus with Jean Reno and Emily Mortimer reprising their roles as his partner Ponton and his girlfriend Nicole. Andy García and Alfred Molina round out the cast as detectives, Inspector Vicenzo Brancaleone and Chief Inspector Randall Pepperidge. Spice Girl Emma Bunton will also make an appearance in this movie; she had originally bowed out from the lead female role due to her commitment in the Spice Girls reunion tour. Harald Zwart is directing the sequel.

Plot

Clouseau is sent away from France on holiday by Chief Inspector Charles Dreyfus, only to have the vacation turn out to be an elaborate ploy to make him leave. When he leaves France the Pink Panther diamond is stolen once again. Along with a team including Inspector Pepperidge (Great Britain), Vincenzo (a wealthy businessman from Italy), Kenji (an electronics specialist from Japan), and Sonia (a researcher from India), Clouseau has to solve the case of the Pink Panther diamond, identify the robber known only as "the Tornado", and solve the theft of the Magna Carta.

Rock Band 2 is a music video game developed by Harmonix Music Systems, as the sequel to Rock Band. It is the second title in the Rock Band series. The game software was released in North America for the Xbox 360 on September 14, 2008, along with individual instrument peripherals. Upon release, Rock Band 2 received very positive reviews from critics, while selling 363,000 copies in the first two weeks.

GamePlay

Rock Band players use peripherals modeled after musical instruments to simulate the performance of rock music. Revival is a 2007 studio album by American swamp rock singer-songwriter/guitarist John Fogerty, and is his first new album in three years. The album is also the third album (the first two were compilation and live albums) since rejoining Fantasy Records. It was released on October 2, 2007. The cover design echoes the silhouette design of Fogerty's first solo album The Blue Ridge Rangers. The first single from the album was "Don't You Wish It Was True." The album contains two war protest songs, "Long Dark Night" and "I Can't Take It No More," both of which explicitly speak out against the Bush administration and the Iraq War. The latter song marks Fogerty's first experimentation with punk rock and also contains a lyric that refers to one of his hits with CCR, by referring to Bush as a "Fortunate Son." The album debuted at number 14 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling about 65,000 copies in its first week.

The album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album of 2008, but it lost to Foo Fighters's Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. This album was #11 on Rolling Stone's list of the Top 50 Albums of 2007. This song "Gunslinger" was #12 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best Songs of 2007.

Rygar: The Legendary Adventure, known in Japan as Argus no Senshi, is a console game for the PlayStation 2 first released in November, 2002. It is an update of the original Rygar released for arcade machines and various consoles. The new features are a transition to 3D graphics and portions of the environment are destructible. It was released to generally positive reviews. The game is inspired by Greek and Roman mythology and has many enemies and worlds named after them. This game was ported to the Wii as Rygar: The Battle of Argus in 2008.

GamePlay

In Rygar: The Legendary Adventure, the player traverses the landscape armed with the Diskarmor, defeating enemies, collecting powerups, and so forth. The camera is fixed in one location, but rotates when the player moves around accordingly. The game has many unlockable features, like picture and movie galleries. Also, completing the game and meeting certain requirements unlocks the use of a number of special diskarmors as well as allowing you to play the game from any level.

Plot

The film follows an ex-CIA "preventer" faced with recovering his daughter after she is kidnapped by sex-traffickers in Paris, France. Killzone 2 is an upcoming hard sci-fi first-person shooter for the PlayStation 3 video game console, currently in development by Guerrilla Games and to be published by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is the third installment in the Killzone franchise that began on the PlayStation 2 with Killzone and was continued with Killzone: Liberation on the PlayStation Portable. First announced at E³ 2005 in Los Angeles, California, Killzone 2 is set to be released on February 27, 2009.

GamePlay

With Killzone 2, Guerrilla Games aims to provide the player with an immersive and cinematic gameplay experience that is grounded in reality with what they call "Hollywood Realism". The game is almost entirely presented from a first person point of view, through Sev's eyes. Killzone 2 features a cover system named "lean and peek" which allows the player to take cover behind an object, and then pop out to fire at enemies. The "lean and peek" mechanic stays in first person view at all times. Killzone 2 will also support PS3 Trophies. It has also been announced that Sev is able to pilot vehicles, however further details are yet to be announced. Many Killzone classic weapons and vehicles such as the the M82-G and the StA-52 LAR will be returning.

Synopsis

Batman: Arkham Asylum is an upcoming video game for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Microsoft Windows, and is based on DC Comics' Batman. It is being developed by Rocksteady Studios and will be published by Eidos Interactive in conjunction with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics. It is based on the long-running comic book mythos, as opposed to most other Batman games which are adaptations of the character in other media besides the source material.

GamePlay

The game will have a more closed gameplay atmosphere, similar to Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. Paul Dini's story is a style reminiscent of the depth and twists of Bioshock. Gameplay places just as much focus on Batman's role as a detective as his combat prowess. Most of the game is played through an over-the-shoulder, third person perspective, similar to that of Resident Evil 4. It has been hinted that certain villains might be playable at some point in the game although this may be as an unlockable element after completing the game. Arkham was chosen as a location because of its limitations including the fact that it's located on an island. Arkham will be a persistent location that the player will be able to freely roam, including an area that serves as Batman's secret on-site Bat Cave.

The game features context-specific third- and first-person shooter perspectives. Heroes will be the first Battlefield game to be released under Electronic Arts' new "Play 4 Free" model, which will see the game released for free with revenue generated from advertising and micropayments. In addition, a system will be in place to match players of similar skill levels together for fair play.

GamePlay

Battlefield Heroes features a modified conquest mode providing each team 50 tickets and two flags at the start of the round. Killing enemies will reduce tickets and holding more flags than the opposing army will grant a multiplier. It is possible to win by owning more flags than the enemy and by killing fewer of them. Matchmaking will also be a feature to keep players of the same level together. Players of each level will play with other players within a couple levels of their own. Developers of the game have talked about levels going as high as 40 or 50. The two armies are called the National Army (possessing a red base color flag) and the Royal Army (possessing a blue base color flag). The game is third-person only at this point, but senior producer Ben Cousins has stated if first-person is really wanted, it may be added in at a later date. Spawn times are five seconds (compared to previous Battlefield games' 15), allowing for less waiting and more action. Players do not pick spawn points since the game has an "Intelligent Spawn System" putting players closest to the nearest battle. Two maps will be available on release, but a third map is in development.

Dance Flick is an upcoming 2009 American parody film directed by Damien Dante Wayans (who played the lead gang member role in the movie Malibu's Most Wanted), written by his uncles, the Wayans Brothers, and starring Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans. The film is a spoof of recent musical and dance films that include Save the Last Dance, Hairspray, Step Up,You Got Served, Flashdance and High School Musical. It is set for release in North America on February 6, 2009.

Plot

In this spoof of dance movies, aspiring professional dancers Megan and Thomas try and help one another realize their dreams.

Developed by the Creative Assembly and published by Sega, the game is scheduled for release on 3 February 2009. Announced in August 2007, Empire: Total War is the fifth installment in the Total War series, and focuses on the modern era period of the 1700s and 1800s. The game follows a similar style of play as earlier Total War titles: players choose a contemporary faction and set out to ensure their faction's domination over the known world through military force, politics, diplomacy, espionage and economics. Although the campaign element of the game is turn-based, players can direct battles in real-time. Empire: Total War is the first game in the series to allow naval battles to be conducted in real-time.

GamePlay

Empire: Total War is focused on exploration, diplomacy, economics, the founding of colonies and ultimately conquest. The game is set in the early modern period, spanning from 1700 to the early 1800s, allowing players to lead a variety of contemporary factions to dominate Europe, North Africa, the Americas and the Indies. The player will use both complex strategies on the campaign map as well as command military forces in battles on both land and sea. As with previous Total War games, Empire: Total War consists of two broad areas of gameplay: a turn-based campaign map that allows the user to move armies across the globe, conduct diplomacy, economics and other tasks needed to run their faction, and a real-time battle mode that enables players to direct the course of any battles that take place. Empire: Total War will also feature a story-driven mode entitled "Road to Independence", where the player will guide the British colonisation of America from the establishment of Jamestown, through the battles for British dominance over other European powers on the continent, and ending with the American War of Independence. Empire: Total War will feature approximately fifty 18th century factions, such as Great Britain, Prussia, Sweden, and the Ottoman Empire with all the major powers at the time being playable. The emergence of key nations during the era, such as Revolutionary France and the United States, and the fall of native states to the larger empires will be reflected in the game. Players will be able to access at least ten factions at the start of the game, and unlock others later in the game. Each faction varies in territory, strengths and specialities.

About The Album

Unless you're an astute T-Pain follower, you may not have realized he hasn't released an album since May 2007. That's because he's been nearly as ubiquitous as Lil Wayne in the guest appearance department since then, adding his Autotune-d voice to tracks from Wayne, Ciara and Ludacris, among many others.

So what's the difference between T-Pain the guest and T-Pain the featured artist on "Thr33 Ringz?" Not much, but that's OK, thanks to a winning mix of humor and sincerity. "I don't need your sex/I'll masturbate," he sniffs on the Kanye West-featuring "Therapy," while "Chopped & Skrewed" is a comic tale of being hoodwinked by a woman.

But there's more substance here than on past albums, particularly on the Eric Clapton-sampling "Change," and T-Pain seems comfortable leaning in a poppier direction on tracks like "Can't Believe It" featuring Wayne.

"Thr33 Ringz" follows 2007's "Epiphany," which has sold 843,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Notorious is an upcoming biographical film about the life of hip hop star The Notorious B.I.G., who is played by fellow Brooklynite Jamal Woolard. It will also feature Angela Bassett as his mother Voletta Wallace, Derek Luke as Biggie's manager Sean "Diddy" Combs, and Anthony Mackie as rap rival Tupac Shakur. Other roles include Naturi Naughton as Lil' Kim and Antonique Smith as wife Faith Evans. The film is currently in post-production and it will hit theaters on January 16, 2009. A teaser trailer was released in late September. An exclusive trailer was played during the BET Hip-Hop Awards showing more of what The Notorious B.I.G. does and more of Tupac's part. The film has been rated R by the MPAA for pervasive language, some strong sexuality including dialogue, nudity, and for drug content.

Theater of the Mind is the sixth studio album by Atlanta rapper Ludacris. It was released November 24, 2008.

Review

Ludacris' 2006 album "Release Therapy" was supposed to illustrate some degree of personal growth, but "Theater" has no time for troublesome goal-setting. This one's stuffed with massive, flamboyant beats; overloud dirty-comic vocals; and all the usual lyrical stops: the streets ("Call Up the Homies"), women-slash-liquor ("One More Drink") and money, which is apparently important to him ("Wish You Would"). Throughout, Ludacris brings the funny ("The inconvenient truth is that the ozone is bad 'cause I've been smoking all the trees"), gets off two or three killer lines per song (check out "Everybody Hates Chris," featuring Chris Rock, happily), seems to enjoy his cars and sex, takes shots at Bill O'Reilly and obtains cameos by every rapper you've ever heard of (and, of course, Ving Rhames).

X3: Terran Conflict , also known as X3TC, is a space combat simulator from German developer Egosoft and is the culmination of their X series of computer games. The game was announced on February 3, 2008. In the initial press release it was described as a stand alone game based in the X3: Reunion universe. It was released on October 17 2008. The game was also developed by several members of the X-Tended Mod team and features many assets from it. It complements the known story of previous games with the history of the solar system in the years after Kyle William Brennan's jump into the X-Universe and the events after the end of X3: Reunion. Compared to X3: Reunion, Terran Conflict features a larger universe, more ships, and entirely new missions which were created though the new Mission Director system. The flight control using a mouse was improved and the interface reworked to feature a new context menu system. The Terran faction was added with their own set of gigantic stations, powerful ships and technology. Many new weapons systems were developed such as smart swarm missiles and ships with multiple missile turrets.

X3: Terran Conflict is a brand new, stand-alone game set in the universe of X3. It is the culmination of the X trilogy, with a grand finale that takes us all the way back to Earth's own solar system. Gamers can take on the roles of different characters in the X universe, or of a Terran military pilot, and experience a multitude of stories in the largest X universe ever featured -- for X3: Terran Conflict will offer more missions than any other X game before. Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is the third installment in the Underworld series. It is a prequel set prior to Underworld and Underworld: Evolution, covering the origins of some characters.

Plot

The prequel will trace the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires and their onetime slaves, the Lycans. In the Dark Ages, a young Lycan named Lucian (Sheen) emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (Nighy), the cruel vampire king who has enslaved them. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, Viktor's daughter Sonja (Mitra), in his battle against the Death Dealer army and his struggle for Lycan freedom.
